From 2023 to early 2025 I was a product manager at Smartex, shipping computer vision that catches fabric defects on textile production lines.
The talk is the engineering reality of that: what broke once the model left the demo, what operators actually did with it, and why the model working was not the same as the product working. I'll end with an open question to the room: when a human corrects your AI system, does that correction make it back into training, or does it die in a log?
