Privacy policy
Last updated · 20 October 2026
This policy covers unblockai.pt, our free meetups and our community channels. The site has no account, no tracking cookies and no analytics. Meetup registrations happen on Luma and speaker applications on a Google Form; we use what you send there only to run the meetups. You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your data at [email protected]. The conference and its app have their own privacy policy.
Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is Joana Joaquim & Pedro Ganço, Lda., NIPC 517705770, Rua Manuel Conceição Gomes André, 3, 1.º Dto., 2080-121 Almeirim, Portugal, which runs the Unblock AI website and meetups together with the organisers Pedro Ganço, Catarina Canelas and Diogo Figueiredo ("we", "us").
Contact: [email protected].
The Unblock AI Conference 2026 and its app are covered by the conference privacy policy.
Visiting the website
You can use unblockai.pt without telling us who you are. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and technical request data to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks. Cloudflare gives us aggregate traffic figures, such as the number of requests and the countries they come from, without cookies and without identifying anyone. We do not use analytics tools, advertising pixels or tracking cookies.
The site stores only your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage. It is needed for the feature you asked for and is never sent to us.
Some pages load content from other services:
- Event pages load Luma's checkout button. When you register, Luma handles your data under its own privacy policy.
- Talk pages with a video may load a player from an external service.
Basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (GDPR, article 6(1)(f)).
Meetups
You register for meetups on Luma. Luma shares with us your name, email and any answers to the registration questions. We use them to manage seats, contact you about that meetup (for example a change of venue or time) and check people in.
Some host companies need the names of attendees in advance for building security. In that case we share your name with the host of that meetup, and only for that purpose.
Basis: taking part in the meetup you registered for (article 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in running the event safely (article 6(1)(f)).
If you follow Unblock AI on Luma, Luma sends you announcements of new events. You can unsubscribe in Luma at any time.
Speaker applications
If you apply to speak, the Google Form asks for your name, email, role and company, a short bio, more about you and a link to your profile, your talk proposal, format and experience. We use it to choose talks and to contact you. If your talk is accepted, we publish your name, role, company, photo, talk title and description on the site and in our channels, as agreed with you.
Basis: steps you asked us to take before speaking (article 6(1)(b)), and the agreement with accepted speakers.
Photos at meetups
We sometimes take photos at meetups and record talks, and share them on the site and social media. If you do not want to appear, tell an organiser on the day. You can ask us to remove any photo in which you can be identified.
Basis: our legitimate interest in showing the community's work (article 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time.
Community channels
The WhatsApp group is run on WhatsApp, under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy. Members can see each other's phone numbers and names, as in any WhatsApp group. Organisers may remove members who break the Code of conduct.
Emails to us
When you write to [email protected], we keep the conversation to reply and to follow up on what you asked.
